The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team located in Pakenham. This permanent role will give you the opportunity to work on exciting, innovative products for the 4X4 accessories market. You will be responsible for overseeing and driving mechanical design outcomes for a range of products, from conceptual design through to manufacturing and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical design activities for 4X4 accessory products, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
* Utilise advanced CAD software (SolidWorks) to develop detailed designs, including mechanisms, assemblies, and prototypes.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of designs through FEA and other CAE methods to ensure durability, functionality, and safety.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (including manufacturing, testing, and marketing) to drive products from initial concept to final production.
* Support DVP&R testing activities to validate design performance.
* Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize product design and production efficiency.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of design processes and best practices.
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for someone who brings a strong technical foundation in Mechanical Engineering and has experience designing products in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You should have a passion for off-road vehicles and accessories, along with the technical expertise to turn your ideas into tangible, market-leading solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
* Proven experience in mechanical design within the automotive or 4X4 accessories, or off-road vehicle industries.
* Proficient in SolidWorks.
