Principal Process Engineer
Join a growing junior miner in critical minerals and play a pivotal role in delivering a major PFS.
We are seeking an experienced
Principal Process Engineer
to help shape the development of our flagship project. With funding for the study this is a rare opportunity to influence the direction of a critical minerals asset at an early stage and bring your technical leadership to a hands-on, growth-focused team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
base metals
and proven experience working on
PFS/DFS studies
, ideally within a junior mining environment. If you thrive in fast-moving study teams, enjoy building flowsheets, and understand what it takes to progress a project from concept to execution, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
You will lead process engineering activities for the project's
Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS)
, working closely with our study manager and metallurgical team. Your work will centre on developing and optimising a gravity separation and flotation flowsheet, overseeing metallurgical test programs, and ensuring fit-for-purpose design inputs that underpin robust technical and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide primary process engineering input into the project's PFS.
* Develop and refine PFDs, mass balances, and process design criteria.
* Oversee and interpret metallurgical test work, especially in gravity separation and flotation.
* Collaborate with geology, mining, environmental and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated study outcomes.
* Translate test work results into practical and cost-effective design solutions.
* Support cost estimation, risk assessments and schedule development from a process perspective.
* Champion safety, environmental and sustainability considerations in all design work.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers and study team members.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering (or related discipline).
* Strong background in sulfide base metals processing.
* Demonstrated experience contributing to
PFS/DFS studies
, ideally with a junior miner.
* Strong technical capability in
gravity separation and flotation
.
* Proven ability to convert metallurgical test work into meaningful engineering and design outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Approximately
15+ years' experience
in mineral processing, combining operations and study/project exposure.
This is an opportunity to directly influence a critical minerals project at a formative stage, within a team that values technical excellence, agility, and collaboration.
