About the Role:
Step into a role at the heart of Curtin Connect, where your leadership will shape the student experience and drive meaningful change across the University. As the Strategy and Operations Lead, you will champion the delivery of high-quality, student-focused services, guiding a team that supports students throughout their entire journey.
This role offers the opportunity to innovate and elevate the way Curtin Connect operates. You will embed a culture of continuous improvement, using student feedback, benchmarking and data-led insights to transform services, identify opportunities, and deliver real impact. Your work will ensure students have access to personalised, seamless support, including specialised services for at-risk and equity cohorts.
You will be instrumental in empowering students to take control of their own experience. By ensuring online resources are accurate, engaging, and student-centric, you will help students navigate their journey with confidence. You will also lead workforce capability initiatives, creating an agile, skilled team ready to meet evolving needs.
As custodian of the Curtin Connect 102 space, you will oversee its operation and deliver engaging events that enhance the student experience. Your leadership will strengthen collaboration across the University, champion the Curtin Connect brand, and drive strategic objectives in partnership with the Director, Service Delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead, plan, and manage the operations of Curtin Connect, providing clear strategic direction and inspiring leadership that drives best-practice, student-focused service.
* Analyse and map the student experience across the full lifecycle, identifying current pain points and opportunities to design improved, future-focused services.
* Oversee online systems and technologies, ensuring they are designed, implemented, and monitored to effectively meet student needs and manage demand.
* Provide strong leadership and guidance to staff, including recruitment, induction, ongoing engagement, performance reviews, and professional development.
* Build and maintain strategic networks and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the University and external partners to support service excellence and compliance with best practice standards.
Who we are looking for (selection criteria):
* Relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive experience, or extensive management experience and proven expertise within a complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide teams, provide strategic direction, and drive results in dynamic environments.
* Excellent strategic planning and resource management, with the ability to achieve business outcomes efficiently and effectively.
* Advanced policy and process development skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and adaptability to changing legislative or organisational requirements.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, exercising sound judgement and discretion within established frameworks.
* Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build productive relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to foster a customer-focused, high-performing team culture that values efficiency, innovation, and excellence.
Role Requirements:
1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
