The Role
We're seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Knoxfield, VIC. Reporting to the CFO, you'll drive product costing, variance analysis, and operational insights across four FutureSleep sites. This role blends technical cost accounting with strategic partnership across sales, operations, and business planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and maintain bills of materials and standard costs for all productions, raw materials, and intermediates
* Develop accurate costing systems for labour, production methods, and material supply
* Analyse monthly consumption, recovery, and variances in materials, labour, and overheads
* Support new product development with accurate product costing
* Partner on business projects for efficiencies, process improvements, and capacity planning
* Educate Operations and Production teams on cost management
* Assist in ERP system implementation for product costing and operations planning
* Maintain standard costs and bills of materials in ERP system
* Coordinate inventory reconciliations, stock‑takes, and cycle counts
* Report monthly on slow moving and obsolete inventory
* Set up Sales & Margin reporting by customer, brand, range, region, and store
* Deliver weekly Sales & Margin reporting and analysis
* Support sales and operations forecasting and the S&OP process
* Build dashboards and reports to provide performance insights
* Support budgeting process including cost centre budgets, templates, and consolidations
* Deliver monthly reporting including Flash P&L, Business Reviews, Function and Cost Centre Reviews, Risks & Opportunities
* Support R&D incentive and grants process
What You'll Bring
* CA or CPA qualification + Bachelor's in Accounting/Commerce
* 2+ years' experience post CA or CPA qualification
* Exposure to ERP systems with Bill of Materials, Standard Costs, and Manufacturing variance reporting
* Experience of Cost Accounting in Manufacturing Environment is essential
* Ability to meet strict deadlines and work in a team environment
* Strong financial management and commercial skills
* Ability to engage and work with a diverse range of people
* Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
* Sound engagement and communication skills across all levels
* Motivated to succeed with a hands‑on approach
* Capability to multitask, plan, and self‑organise
