Now here's the boring but necessary fine print:
Disability Support staff work a rotating roster which may include, afternoon, night, and weekend work.
Primary responsibilities of this role include supporting people with disability to mobilize their NDIS Plan. This role can involve manual handling, community access, transportation, personal care, and companionship. The role requires team member to implement a person-centered approach, be energetic and excited to make a difference in peoples' lives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assistance with clients daily living (including personal care) in an individual or group and shared living arrangement.
* Assisting clients with Community access and transport
* Maintaining and monitoring and reviewing person-centered goal plans
* Implementing individual goal plans
* Implementing behaviour support plans (where appropriate training provided)
* Undertaking client risk assessments
* Documentation and progress note keeping
* Ensuring a safe environment for both team member and clients
* Comply with the NDIS code of conduct.
* A commitment and service orientation to quality client service and continuous improvement
Essential Skills and Experience
* A current First Aid certificate and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
* An NDIS worker screening check or transitional agreement
* An international police check (where applicable)
* Current Working with Children check
* Current Drivers License with comprehensive insurance
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate of completion or willingness to obtain
* Previous training and experience working with clients with disabilities and knowledge of delivering person- centered care
* Access to a reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* A flexible availability that includes, afternoon, night, and weekend work
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $41.00 – $66.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
