Your role
We're seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our Toyota Production System (TPS) Operations Division in the Toyota Conversions department. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining production systems, providing technical analysis and solutions to production issues, and ensuring production requirements are suitable to achieve divisional Safety, Quality and Production targets.
This is a Permanent role based in Altona North.
Your impact
* Implement initiatives identified in hazard registers, safety walks, and risk assessments to strengthen the safety culture
* Conduct in-depth analysis to prevent recurrence of production issues, implementing countermeasures to enhance production processes, tooling, equipment, and production aids
* Support to maintain shop floor systems of work, using visual control tools to generate new Kaizen opportunities that improve safety, quality, and production
* Participate in scheduling and planning activities, liaising with contractors for production Kaizen projects, manage Kaizen project budgets, and monitor performance against targets
* Manage changepoint introduction and support production preparation for product changes through coordination of responsible activities and ensure compliance with necessary requirements and regulations
You
* Degree qualification in Engineering, preferably in the field of Mechanical or Manufacturing
* 4+ years of cumulative Engineering Experience, recognised by the Australian Institute of Engineers
* Experience in Automotive Production, with a focus on safety, process optimisation, and quality improvement
* Excellent problem-solving skills and lateral thinking, with a focus on root cause analysis, identifying solutions, mitigating risks, and ensuring smooth project delivery of solutions
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external partners
* Ability to maintain all relevant safety processes and compliance documentation consistently to a high standard
