About Us
We specialize in sheet metal, steel and aluminium fabrication, primarily supporting the growth of existing Renko ventures such as Select Switchboards and Custom Works Marine Manufacturing. With advanced facilities and equipment, we aim to deliver high-quality, precise, and efficient products for various industrial and commercial applications, with short prototype to product timeframes.
Your Role
As part of our expanding operations, we are looking for a skilled drafter/engineer who can bring creative problem-solving and technical expertise to our growing team.
As a SolidWorks Drafter/Engineer, you will:
* Develop detailed 3D models and CAD drawings using SolidWorks.
* Interpret client specifications and collaborate with the engineering team to produce designs for manufacturing.
* Assist with standardizing design and streamlining manufacturing processes.
* Support prototyping and provide detailed manufacturing documentation.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless communication from design to fabrication.
* Assist in product optimization, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and manufacturability.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Proficiency in SolidWorks, including modelling, assembly, and drawing tools.
* Experience with engineering design principles and manufacturing processes, especially sheet metal and structural components.
* Strong understanding of technical drawings and industry standards.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Degree or diploma in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
* Must be an Australian resident or hold a current working visa.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with other design software such as AutoCAD.
* Knowledge of CNC programming or toolpath generation.
* Experience in sheet metal design and fabrication.
* Practical knowledge of materials, including metals and plastics.
* Strong communication skills for client and team collaboration.
