In this role, you'll:
Working within our Suburban Services Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Asset Maintainer role is to take responsibility for delivering maintenance activities within a Region to ensure assets are maintained effectively within WHS and Sydney Trains requirements.
This role proactively and efficiently deals with high volumes of repair work, including undertaking repairs.
The position also develops processes, procedures and maintenance plans to ensure maintenance activities meet current and future organisational requirements.
About you
This role is accountable for delivering a broad range of maintenance activities including assessing maintenance requirements, undertaking repairs and maintenance and allocating maintenance tasks to contractors to ensure assets within a Region are maintained effectively.
You will contribute to the development of Maintenance plans by participating in inspections and assessing maintenance tasks reported by station staff to ensure maintenance activities are aligned to Sydney Trains objectives.
You will conduct site visits, liaise with staff and prepare work specifications to provide input to the scope of maintenance work.
You will monitor the work completed by contractors to ensure that work is delivered efficiently to agreed time and costs requirements and within WHS and Sydney Trains requirements.
You will participate in investigations into maintenance practices, incidents, products and maintenance related matters to contribute to maintenance planning and development of new and improved procedures.
You will complete job documentation and all associated returns and records to ensure that administrative procedures are followed and tracked in the maintenance system.
You will ensure compliance with rail safety procedures, provide a safe environment for staff, contractors and passengers by instructing them on safety requirements and by carrying out required protection duties.
