Accountant
ActewAGL is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Division. Reporting to the Financial Controller – Evoenergy, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial accounting and management reporting for our electricity and gas distribution network businesses.
A day in the life
Complete financial accounting duties in line with Australian Accounting Standards and ActewAGL policies.
Manage month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations using Oracle ARCs.
Oversee financial management of ACT electricity feed-in tariff schemes, including reporting and executive presentations.
Maintain key controls over revenue and cost recognition, ensuring data integrity across billing and financial systems.
Provide month-end analysis, identify anomalies, and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Assist with external audits and contribute to financial modelling and management accounting tasks.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.
Support project governance, executive reporting, and Oracle system users.
What We're Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline, with CA/CPA membership (or advanced progress).
Strong technical accounting skills and experience applying Australian Accounting Standards.
Demonstrated experience in financial accounting (utilities or large infrastructure preferred).
Advanced Excel skills; experience with TM1 and Oracle Financial Suite highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
