Our opportunity
* We are looking for a passionate, and experienced IR/ER Manager assist with high workload and fill a short-term gap, with immediate start.
* Providing expert strategic legal and employment advice, representation and support on a wide range of employment issues to line Managers and other staff within the People and Culture Directorate.
* Engaging with Industrial bodies and representing the Health District at various tribunals and committees inclusive of the District Consultative Committee.
* Provide support with the resolution of complex people matters, complaints, and grievances.
* We support flexible work arrangements—there’s no need to move to Broken Hill. You can be based anywhere in Australia, visiting the site as needed.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
* Qualifications in Industrial Relations, HR Management, Law or other related qualifications and extensive practical experience in industrial relations matters. Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
* Demonstrated commitment and processes to resolving disputes by negotiation wherever possible with a non-adversarial approach to external stakeholders.
* Detailed research and analytical skills and the ability to instruct legal representatives and Counsel in complex matters, ability to appear in Courts and Tribunals, in negotiations, major initiatives and in policy matters.
* Demonstrated experience in providing high quality specific and strategic employment relations advice and services (including negotiations with industrial associations, advocacy experience, award and legislation interpretation and application) and supporting processes in a high volume work area and within agreed timeframes.
* High level analytical and problem solving skills that lead to the development of innovative solutions to complex workplace issues.
* Sound understanding of all relevant employment-related legislation, laws and Ministry of Health Policy in the area of workplace relations, complaints, grievances, workplace health and safety and their application in a health context.
* Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills (including negotiation skills and presentation skills).
* Sound knowledge of the NSW Industrial Relations system.
