Teaching Focused Academic Position
The School of Psychology and Public Health is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a teaching focused lecturer. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs.
* Develop and implement curriculum in alignment with La Trobe University's Teaching Excellence Principles;
* Deliver high-quality teaching, coordination, and subject matter expertise across various subjects and modes;
* Support student learning, engagement, and retention through effective mentoring, coaching, and advising;
* Contribute to scholarly work related to learning and teaching within their field or profession, informing and enhancing teaching practice and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum that aligns with La Trobe University's Teaching Excellence Principles; deliver high-quality teaching, coordination, and subject matter expertise across various subjects and modes.
2. Student Learning and Engagement: Support student learning, engagement, and retention through effective mentoring, coaching, and advising.
3. Scholarly Work: Contribute to scholarly work related to learning and teaching within their field or profession, informing and enhancing teaching practice and student outcomes.
Requirements:
* HDR (or near completion) or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas;
* Discipline expertise (theoretical and practical) inclinical classification utilising the International Classification of Diseases and Health Related Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and at least one of the other health information management knowledge domains;
* Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended, and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards, or through other forms of evidence.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
