About the Role
The position of Printing Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating sheetfed litho offset printing presses.
Responsibilities
* Ink the presses and colour adjustments.
* Prepare plates, blankets, and impression cylinders.
* Monitor quality of printing.
* Ensure finished products comply with job specifications.
* Contribute and assist with the continuous improvement process and implement productivity changes as required.
* Ensure press line maintenance is completed as scheduled.
* Performs additional tasks as required to maintain production efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Trade experience and certification in the print/packaging industry.
* High attention to detail with the ability to think proactively.
* Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.
* High problem‑solving proficiency.
* Respect for the well‑being of others and a safety concern.
* Flexible with shift work.
Working Hours
The Position is full time - 38hrs / week.
* Week 1 days
Week 2 nights + 20% loading
Week 3 afternoons + 30% loading
(repeat)
* Day shift hours: Mon-Thur (6am - 2pm) Fri (6am - 12pm)
* Afternoon shift hours: Mon-Thur (2pm - 10pm) Fri (12pm - 6pm)
* Night shifts: Sun (12am - 6am) Mon-Thurs (10pm - 6am)
