As a key member of our workshop team, you will lead a daily shift, supervise maintenance, and ensure the safe operation of our fleet.

Role Responsibilities
* Perform repairs on buses and other maintenance activities as required.
* Oversee major repair programmes including testing, fault‑finding and quality assurance.
* Conduct functional checks ensuring components are operational and vehicles are fit for service.
* Provide on‑the‑job instruction, training and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory requirements and record documentation.
* Develop workshop team skills to maximise results.
* Lead by example, represent the organisation in an ethical manner according to Busways Code of Conduct.
* Maintain all tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with Busways standards.
* Liaise with the Regional Assets Support Manager regarding off‑road buses.
* Assist Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, including supervising in the absence of the regular appointed supervisor.
* Ensure staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks.
* Create purchase orders and process invoices for payment.
* Report and repair all accident damage as required.
* Perform ad‑hoc tasks and other duties as directed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential.
* Minimum 3‑5 years as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
* Experience applying WHS regulations and company policies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in team environment with daily maintenance and repair schedules.
* Proactive approach and drive for continuous improvement.
* Physical fitness to carry out the role.
* Willingness to undergo pre‑employment medical check and working‑with‑children check.
* Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or unrestricted working rights.
* Unrestricted Australian driver's licence (state relevant).
* RCD (Medium Rigid or above) licence highly regarded but not necessary.
