Registered Nurse - Operating Theatre | Mackay Base Hospital, QLD
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Operating Theatre team at Mackay Base Hospital. This role involves working across Anaesthesia, Scrub, Scout, and PACU as required.
Contract Details:
Start Date: 24/11/2025
End Date: 04/01/2026
Duration: 6 weeks
Mandatory Experience:
- Recent Operating Theatre experience - all-rounders required (Anaes, Scrub, Scout, PACU)
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using the system
- Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health, and/or Mackay HHS
Mandatory Competencies:
- ALS, Resus, and Triage certificates
- BLS competency
- Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
- Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012
Additional Requirements:
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
- Any other training as requested by HHS
