We're seeking a strategic and people-driven State Manager to lead our Queensland team.
Based in Brisbane, this full-time role reports directly to the General Manager – Sales.
This role will bring our state sales strategy to life, leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results.

About the role:
As State Manager, you will take full ownership of sales performance across Queensland, leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
You will oversee sales execution, customer engagement and warehouse operations while ensuring alignment with national strategy, compliance with QHSE standards and consistent delivery of CMI's values.
Driving state sales success by leading the Queensland team in translating national strategies into meaningful local results and strengthening CMI's market presence.
Leading pricing decisions, monitoring pipelines, resolving back orders, and keeping customers informed throughout the process.
Overseeing warehouse operations, improving stock accuracy, and working closely with Inventory and Purchasing to ensure demand is met.
Championing safe work practices, upholding compliance, and promoting a culture of accountability and wellbeing.
Coaching, mentoring, and developing the Queensland team, supporting onboarding, training, and technical capability uplift.
Collaborating with the General Manager – Sales and colleagues nationwide to share insights, drive continuous improvement, and shape CMI's future direction.
Maintaining accurate CRM records and documentation to support efficient communication and seamless cross-functional workflows.
Participating in meetings and workplace activities, delivering work with professionalism and accuracy, and taking on additional projects with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
Qualifications in Electrical Trade, Engineering, or a relevant field is desirable.
Minimum 5 years' experience in the electrical industry, electrical wholesaling, or in a state/branch sales leadership position.
Operational knowledge in stock control, warehouse operations, purchasing processes, and the ability to work closely with supply teams to meet demand.
Proficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting quotations, including costing, pricing, and margin considerations.
Solid grasp of sales forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and using data to guide decisions.
Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities with the capability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and key external stakeholders.
Commitment to quality assurance, safety, and compliance, supported by a proactive approach to maintaining high service standards.
