About the School

At Mooloolaba State School, located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, we deliver a high-quality Prep to Year 6 education within a vibrant and supportive community. We offer a full and balanced curriculum with strong expertise in The Arts, Sport, Technology, and Early Childhood Education. Our students benefit from specialist lessons in Physical Education, Music, and Japanese, along with access to an expanding Instrumental Music Program and a unique Surfing Excellence program. Mooloolaba is a dynamic, forward-thinking school where staff play a key role in shaping engaging and enriching learning experiences.

About the Role

As the Deputy Principal, you will play a key leadership role in driving improved educational outcomes for all students. You will support and enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the school, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Central to your work will be the development of strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community.

This is a temporary part-time position (0.50 FTE) until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Your Responsibilities

As the Mooloolaba State School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Deputise for the Principal when required.
* Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
* Be futures oriented and strategic.
* Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
* Manage resources to achieve goals.
