The Tamar Valley Power Station was originally commissioned by Aurora Energy in **** and acquired by AETV Pty Ltd (AETV) in June **** as a subsidiary company of Hydro Tasmania.
The 386 MW station comprises 208 MW of Combined Cycle Gas generation (CCGT) and 178 MW of Open Cycle Gas generation (OCGT).
AETV operates as part of the Hydro Tasmania asset fleet, an organisation that, with the help of over 30,000 people over more than 100 years, has built, maintained, and refurbished power infrastructure across Tasmania.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be... ? Planning and delivering mechanical maintenance activities, including outages and routine work.
? Diagnosing and solving mechanical issues using root cause analysis and predictive techniques.
? Maintaining accurate records in the CMMS and reporting on progress and trends.
? Providing technical advice and sourcing parts and services to keep the plant running smoothly.
? Collaborating with the team, sharing knowledge, and adapting to new technologies and changes.
? Keeping yourself and others safe by following safety systems, procedures, and regulations.

You're a hands-on mechanical expert who loves solving problems and keeping things running smoothly.
You're a qualified mechanical tradesperson with a current driver's license and either hold (or are ready to obtain) a Type B gas restricted qualification.
You thrive in heavy industrial or production environments, bringing practical experience and a strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
You're not just good with tools, you're a natural problem-solver with sharp fault-finding skills and the ability to plan, prioritise, and get the job done.
You communicate clearly, whether it's writing reports or working with your team, and you're confident using computer systems to support your work.
Most importantly, you're committed to safety and bring a solid knowledge of OH S practices to everything you do.
