The Client:
This company has established themselves as one of QLD's leading boutique commercial and industrial focused builder/developers, delivering JV developments with partner clients, as well as Construct-Only projects for external clients.
In addition to their commercial and industrial portfolios, they have also successfully delivered shopping centres, drive-thru fast food/fuel service centres, and childcare centres. With 75% of their work being negotiated through existing relationships, they have delivered repeat work with institutional clients including Stockland, ESR, Goodman, Charter Hall, Vicinity Centres, Goodstart Early Learning, G8 Education, and Metro Development Group just to name a few.
The Role:
As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the associated tender and estimating process on projects, working closely with the group's Estimating Manager and Preconstruction Manager. This will include D&C, ECI, Hard Dollar and Negotiated Work Engagements, as well as providing Cost Plans directly to repeat clients.
You will also be involved during the preconstruction phase for the group's own internal development projects, undertaking the associated cost planning, value management, and design/buildability processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assist in leading the group's QLD Preconstruction and Estimating functions, including ECI, D&C, and Negotiated Work Engagements.
* Manage key project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Write and review submission material to ensure that project specific requirements/criteria have been met.
* Interpret, understand and execute head contracts - mitigating contractual risk.
* Take part during strategic client engagement process inline with negotiating and securing work.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* 5+ years demonstrated experience estimating/tendering construction/development projects valued up to 20mil - exp with commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects is preferable.
* Have a deep understanding of the ECI/D&C, cost planning, and value management functions, as well as commercial contracts and risk mitigation strategies.
* Experience leading/negotiating/securing ECI, D&C and Hard Dollar Tender engagements acting as client point of contact.
* Have a strong network of existing clients and industry contacts across SEQ.
