Are you an innovative Data Center Designer or Data Centre Engineer with a passion for building and optimising world-class cloud infrastructure?
Our client is seeking multiple highly skilled and experienced professionals to join their dynamic data center development team.
You will play a crucial role in expanding and maintaining their global cloud footprint, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure operational excellence.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities): As a Data Center Designer, you will be instrumental in the physical design and documentation of our cloud environments, focusing on: White Space Design: Manage the creation and implementation of data center white space design, including rack layout, hot/cold containment strategies, network infrastructure, branch circuit distribution, and projected build phases.
Design Standards Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and colocation providers to define project design criteria, develop the Basis of Design, and assist in creating and maintaining global data center infrastructure standards.
Documentation Compliance: Create, develop, and maintain comprehensive data center infrastructure site documentation, including floor plans, rack elevations, and cable matrices.
Review and evaluate RFI, RFP, and RFQ submittals.
Innovation Research: Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center electrical and mechanical equipment to drive operational improvement and efficiency.
Project Execution: Coordinate with key internal teams to establish requirements, manage project schedules, meet critical deadlines, and clearly communicate necessary updates.
What You'll Bring: Experience: A minimum of three - five years of professional experience working in a critical data center environment.
Design Proficiency: Proven experience creating and managing detailed drawings using AutoCad and Visio.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Data Center/Critical environment Electrical Mechanical Infrastructure.
Operational Excellence: Experience in the development of MOPs (Methods of Procedure), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures) for carrying out systems operations.
Data Center Metrics: Solid knowledge of Data Center PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and how it is derived.
Infrastructure Skills: Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies, and an understanding of Industrial/commercial electrical one lines and BMS/EPMS control systems.
Soft Skills: Proven problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently, and strong communication skills for effective vendor and stakeholder management.
