The Role
This exciting opportunity will suit an inspired team leader looking to support the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) with their Data and Digital requirements.
Operating under broad direction, the NSSG EL1 Data Capability Manager will play a critical role in developing the organisation’s data strategy, and implementing Defence Enterprise digital transformation initiatives and technology solutions on behalf of NSSG.
Specifically, the role will;
* Coordinate and manage NSSG’s implementation of Defence data governance, data analytics, digital platform, and digital innovation programs to ensure that NSSG leverages technology and data effectively to drive insights and improve decision-making.
* Oversee NSSG Group Point of Contact (GPOC) representation, which functions as an essential role advising Defence Digital Group on NSSG priorities. The GPOC role ensures that digital capability requirements are assessed and aligned to the broader priorities of Defence and NSSG, taking into consideration the National Defence Strategy and the Defence Priority Statement.
* Internal to NSSG, provide guidance towards the implementation of NSSG Data & Digital governance decision-making forums, to ensure that the Group’s priorities can be efficiently determined and adequately represented to Defence’s Data & Digital Enterprise Leads (Joint Capability Group and Defence Digital Group).
About our Team
The Chief Engineer and Portfolio Management Office (CEPMO) is situated within the Office of DEPSEC NSSG.
The branch provides governance and assurance of Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment delivery activities, spanning Engineering, Technology and Materiel Logistics functions, Portfolio Governance, Resource Management and Corporate Systems.
The Directorate of Corporate Systems enables materiel delivery through the provision of Quality Management, Business Management Systems and Digital Capability Support, aligned with the Defence Enterprise including CASG, DDG, Navy and Army.
The team provides support to NSSG delivery units located around Australia.
