About you
* You will ideally have a background in health law, but we will also consider people with broader insurance disputes experience.
* A well-researched and genuine interest in working in health law
Our Melbourne health team is experiencing significant growth and we need a talented lawyers to support our expanding practice. We are on the lookout for lawyers at the solicitor or associate level who are keen to join a close and collaborative team working on diverse and complex matters. You will have the opportunity to work directly under a market leading partner. Some of the work the team looks after:
* Advising and representing medical practitioners, hospital and allied health professionals who are the subject of negligence claims, disciplinary proceedings, Medicare and criminal investigations, and who are required to attend coronial inquests.
* Guiding medical practitioners and allied health professionals through the industry's complex regulatory framework. This includes advising on compliance with laws regarding prescription of drugs of dependence, advertising medical services, privacy, health records and criminal investigations.
* Assisting health professionals in employment disputes, criminal prosecutions, privacy law, Victorian Ombudsman investigations, and disputes between health practitioners and the medical colleges.
