About the role
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Fruit and Veg Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to join the dedicated team at STIRLING IGA' in the Northern Suburbs & Joondalup area of Perth, WA. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the fresh produce section is well-stocked, presented and maintained to the highest standards.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting with the stock management and ordering of fresh fruit and vegetables
* Ensuring the produce section is kept tidy, clean and visually appealing to customers
* Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service, offering recommendations and answering queries
* Placing and unpacking deliveries, rotating stock and maintaining appropriate stock levels
* Following all health, safety and food hygiene procedures
* Collaborating with the wider retail team to provide a seamless shopping experience
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, preferably in a fresh produce or supermarket environment
* Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in fresh produce or supermarket retail
* A genuine passion for fresh, quality produce and an ability to provide excellent customer service
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
* Good physical fitness to perform tasks such as lifting, moving and stacking produce
* Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg repeatedly throughout shift
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A positive, enthusiastic and reliable approach to work
* Must have valid right to work in Australia
