This exciting role of Senior Land Services Officer – Plant Industries will work directly with land managers within the Central Tablelands Local Land Services region to plan, implement and monitor key projects relating to agricultural productivity and sustainability with an emphasis on plant industries including horticulture, irrigated cropping and hay production. You will engage with a diverse portfolio of land managers with a range of diverse needs, to provide advice and support to achieve bio secure, profitable, productive and sustainable primary industries in our region.? In this role you will;? Initiate partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders? Manage the delivery of agricultural incentive and awareness projects? Work with producers and industry to identify and develop key priorities for extension and adoption for plant based industries.?? Provide information and services to strategically targeted areas including emerging industries.?? Provide technical advice and assistance to industry and producers to increase adoption of best practice management.? Support effective planning and delivery processes within Local Land Services.? To be successful in the role, you will need to have: Working experience with farming systems and engaging with farmers.? A degree in agriculture, rural science or equivalent knowledge and experience.? Strong technical knowledge in the areas of horticulture, cropping and hay production.?? Well informed knowledge about issues affecting plant based industries in the Central Tablelands region.?? Excellent communication skills to engage and collaborate with people in government, industry and the community and build partnerships.? An ability to think strategically and understand risk as it applies to farming in our region.? High level administrative and project management skills.? A Current NSW Class C Driver Licence combined with the ability and willingness to undertake regular travel within the Central Tablelands LLS region (including overnight trips) is also a requirement of this role.?
