Perioperative Clinical Trainer (Instrumentation / Circulating)

Burnside Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Perioperative Clinical Trainer (Instrumentation/Circulating) to lead the development and delivery of a structured education and mentoring program for our orthopaedic scrub/scout nursing staff. This pivotal role supports the upskilling, professional growth and overall clinical excellence of our perioperative team, ensuring they are confident, competent, and prepared to meet the evolving clinical demands of Burnside Hospital. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, the Perioperative Trainer plays a key role in enhancing patient-centred care through workforce development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.

We're looking for an energetic and knowledgeable individual who brings:

* Minimum 5 years' recent perioperative nursing experience, with strong orthopaedic scrub/scout expertise
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent adult education qualification
* Proven experience in clinical education, mentoring, or training roles
* Deep knowledge of contemporary orthopaedic nursing practice and models of care
* Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to analyse clinical information and contribute to service improvement
* Understanding of accreditation and quality frameworks
* A resilient, proactive, and dynamic approach that inspires others
* Commitment to Burnside Hospital's values-based approach

This is a permanent full-time opportunity (part-time may be negotiated) located at our Stepney hospital site.
