AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. Key Responsibilities
* Leading a team of engineers in the design of data center critical infrastructure systems
* Facilitating weekly meetings with internal engineer resources, internal customers and external consultants to address design issues, meet design milestones and elevate risks as needed; driving risk mitigation meetings across the region
* Driving process improvements, tool optimisations and preparing monthly/quarterly business review reports across the region
* Creating and tracking metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design as well as collecting data from construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented
* Establishing capital project design budgets and contributing to complex business cases for existing and new region deployments
* Collaborating with AWS finance teams to secure funding for projects
* Working in partnership with AWS Engineering leads to schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs
* Partnering with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables
* Managing the document controller's workflow and auditing deliverables
* Managing interfaces, stakeholder coordination and overseeing follow‐through from due diligence to design, to construction to operations across the project life cycle
* Driving permitting approvals and interfacing with respective AHJs
A Day in the Life
The design manager will lead the design delivery of inflight and new build design projects. The person will act as a single point of contact to oversee design delivery, manage stakeholders, and optimise resources/efforts across the project life cycle.

Basic Qualifications
* 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
* 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‐critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
* Experience in project management or as a project lead including RFQ/RFP process, selecting engineering teams, developing budgets, coordinating multiple consultant teams and facilitating meetings
* Experience performing complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and presenting the justification to management in a high‐level review
* Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional Engineering or Architectural License
* Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
* Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
* Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
* Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite
