Lead Data Integration Engineer
Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Job Overview
* Designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs to enable secure, scalable data access.
* Integration with external APIs to ingest third‑party data into enterprise systems.
* Managing API gateways, authentication, and access controls for secure data exchange.
* Ensuring APIs follow best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
* Collaborating with software engineering teams to embed APIs into applications and workflows.
* Leading technical design discussions and proposing scalable architecture solutions.
* Establishing and enforcing best practices in data engineering, including coding standards, testing, and CI/CD for data pipelines.
* Partnering with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align data engineering solutions with business goals.
Job Requirement
* Hands‑on experience with big data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Spark, Hadoop).
* Proven experience building and managing APIs (REST), including authentication (OAuth2, JWT) and API gateway management.
* Prior exposure to data security and compliance frameworks.
* Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices for CI/CD in data pipelines.
* Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
