We are seeking a highly experienced National HSE Manager to lead our health, safety and environmental strategy across multiple sites.
About The Role
Shadbolt Group is seeking a highly experienced National HSE Manager to lead our health, safety and environmental strategy across multiple sites. This is a key leadership role driving compliance, culture, and continuous improvement in a complex, high-risk industry environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Shadbolt’s national HSE systems and governance framework
- Drive a strong safety culture across workshops, shipyards, and project sites
- Partner with senior leaders, project managers, regulators and clients to deliver safe, compliant outcomes
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and implement HSE strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned to ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
- Oversee risk management, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions
- Embed safety into new projects and operations from mobilisation through execution
- Lead training, toolbox talks, inductions and safety awareness programs
- Report safety performance and improvement initiatives to the Executive Team
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in WHS/OHS, Risk Management, Engineering or related discipline (Diploma or higher)
- Robust knowledge of WHS legislation, risk frameworks, and ISO management systems
- Experience managing HSE in engineering, fabrication, shipbuilding or heavy industry environments
- Proven leadership in driving cultural change and engaging stakeholders at all levels
- ICAM/TapRooT or equivalent incident investigation training
- Eligibility for Defence security clearance and willingness to travel nationally
