**The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a vital part of Queensland's justice system, representing the State in prosecuting criminal matters across courts such as the High Court of Australia, Supreme Court, District Court and more. Our work addresses complex and sensitive legal matters, ensuring justice is upheld with professionalism and integrity.

About Your Opportunity

This is a 12 month opportunity within Beenleigh Chambers with a possibility of extension.

As a Practice Manager, you will:

- Ensure timely delivery of commitments, including the presentation of indictments.

- Monitor and report on team performance and outputs, resolving Chambers issues as they arise.

- Oversee file allocations and circuit responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow management.

- Establish, maintain, and improve systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.

- Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to staff, while contributing to the development and delivery of targeted training programs for legal and support staff.

- Build and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders, consulting and negotiating to achieve positive outcomes.

- Ensure complainants and relatives in cases involving sexual and violent offences receive timely and accurate information.

- Manage a caseload of complex matters and attend court events as required.

- Assist in delivering the ODPP's training obligations to external organisations.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a results-driven leader with the following skills and attributes:

- Drives accountability and outcomes - Demonstrates criminal litigation experience, strong advocacy skills in Magistrates and/or higher courts, and the ability to manage and motivate staff while identifying professional development opportunities.

- Leads strategically - Contributes to organisational initiatives and reviews and builds productive partnerships through effective consultation, negotiation and communication.

- Builds enduring relationships - Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders and address the needs of victims of crime with care and professionalism.

- Fosters a healthy and inclusive workplace - Manages team operations effectively, reports on performance data and contributes to state-wide initiatives and reviews.

- Pursues continuous growth - Maintains a commitment to professional and ethical standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Mandatory Requirements:

Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia (please provide your admission date).
