Cyber Security Manager | COSPO – Downer Professional Services
Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Managing cyber security across multiple units within the Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, you will partner with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Vulnerability & Risk Management: Conduct vulnerability management activities and execute the Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management Plan.
SOC Development & Threat Hunting: Manage and enhance SOC capabilities, lead analysts, and oversee threat hunt planning, execution, and reporting.
Cyber Operations & Procedures: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, execute Incident Response Plans, and provide specialist ICT security advice.
Cyber Threat Intelligence & Awareness: Analyse and apply CTI to COSPO products, while maintaining knowledge of strategic cyber threats and delivering awareness briefings.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Collaborate across Defence Digital Group, lead internal cyber security training, and engage stakeholders to strengthen security posture.
What You'll Bring
Core Qualifications: Cert IV in Cyber Security, Intelligence Operations, or Security & Risk Management, plus SAFe Practitioner certification.
Advanced Certifications: Degree in Cyber Security, with desirable credentials such as CISM, CISSP, SSCP, SANS, or IRAP.
Governance & Compliance Expertise: Strong background in ICT Security GRC, risk assessments, technical reporting, and supply chain risk management.
Operational Security Skills: Experience in SOC-based incident response, threat modelling, SIEM optimisation, and vulnerability management.
Specialised Knowledge: Exposure to MITRE ATT&CK, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline security, digital forensics, Defence/military environments, and intelligence collaboration.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimumNegative Vetting 1or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
In some instances, compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
