Responsibilities
* Assisting anaesthetists during surgical procedures by monitoring patient vital signs and administering anaesthetic agents as directed.
* Preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures.
* Monitoring patients throughout anaesthetic administration and the post-operative recovery period.
* Documenting all relevant patient information and treatment details with meticulous attention to accuracy.
* Collaborating with the multidisciplinary theatre team to provide coordinated, patient-centred care.
* Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures and safety standards to minimise risks.
Qualifications
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Significant experience (minimum 2 years) as an Anaesthetic Nurse in a hospital or private practice setting.
* Strong knowledge of anaesthetic agents, their administration, and monitoring of patient responses.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team.
* Demonstrated ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, high-acuity workplace.
* Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical practice.
