About us
At Beyond Barriers, we support individuals with communication and swallowing needs to live meaningful, connected lives. Our speech pathologists deliver person-centred, evidence-based services across clinic, home, and community settings, working closely with clients, families, and support teams.
We are seeking a warm, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our team. This role is suited to someone with experience in a clinical allied health environment who enjoys engaging with people and supporting a busy, purpose-driven clinic. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, adapting to change, and contributing positively within a collaborative team.
About the role
As the first point of contact for Beyond Barriers, you will support both clients and clinicians through front-of-house and administrative duties that keep the clinic running smoothly. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, you will provide close administrative and organisational support, assisting with the coordination of daily priorities and clinic operations. This role provides valuable insight into speech pathology services, client care pathways, and NDIS-funded supports.
Key responsibilities
Client & Front-of-House Support: Welcome clients, families, and support workers in a professional and respectful manner. Manage phone and email enquiries. Coordinate appointments, cancellations, and clinician schedules.
Clinical Administration Support: Assist with client records, referrals, and intake documentation. Support clinicians with non-clinical administrative tasks. Manage consent forms and service agreements. Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy requirements.
Communication & Coordination: Liaise with clinicians, clients, families, and support teams. Act as a central point of contact for daily clinic operations. Provide general office and administrative support as required.
About you
You are organised, approachable, and professional, with a strong understanding of discretion, confidentiality, and clear communication in a clinical environment. You are comfortable using a range of digital systems, including email, scheduling, and practice management software, and can adapt quickly to new technology in a busy clinic setting.
You will be a great fit if you have experience in a receptionist or administrative role within an allied health or clinical setting, enjoy working with people and supporting clients with diverse needs, can prioritise tasks, multitask effectively, and think on your feet, communicate clearly and professionally both in person and in writing, and are reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Highly regarded but not essential experience includes working in an NDIS or disability setting, familiarity with practice management systems, and an interest in allied health or healthcare.
What we offer
Flexible part-time or full-time hours.
A genuinely supportive team where people care about one another, work collaboratively, and value respect and kindness.
A role with scope to grow and develop as the clinic continues to expand.
Ongoing learning through close work with clinicians and leadership.
Competitive remuneration aligned with experience and responsibilities.
