The Role

Maintenance & Operations is responsible for delivering a suite of operational services including road, footpath & drainage works, street cleansing, graffiti removal, and public litter collection, alongside our contracted parks and garden maintenance, sports field maintenance, tree care, and concrete reinstatement works, among others.

Reporting to the Unit Manager – City Amenity, the Supervisor Rural Amenity will work alongside Supervisor Rural Civil Works at the Whittlesea Depot and lead approximately ten staff responsible for delivering Council's in-house manual litter collection, removal of small scale illegally dumped rubbish, streetsweeping and asset maintenance services as part of a program of works designed to increase the appearance, safety, and amenity of Council's parks, shopping precincts, roadsides, and open spaces. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the management of Whittlesea depot operations.

About you

A hard working and experienced operations leader, the ideal candidate will have a blend of industry experience and attention to detail, a get-your-hands-dirty mentality, alongside a desire and drive for continual, never-ending improvement. You'll have the ability to work effectively both autonomously and in teams, the ability to lead and motivate staff working outdoors, and the ability to coordinate and effectively manage resources towards service optimisation and delivery.

You'll also possess a strong output focus, strong people & customer service focus, and unwavering desire for improving outcomes across our diverse community.
