Azure Data Factory Engineer

We are seeking three skilled Azure Data Factory Engineers to support a high-profile federal government program focused on modernising digital services and data integration infrastructure. This role provides an opportunity to work on nationally significant projects in a secure and collaborative environment, contributing to data-driven decision-making across the agency.
As an Azure Data Factory Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines and data integration solutions using Microsoft Azure tools, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing data infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and maintain data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, SQL, and related Azure services.
* Develop, implement, and manage ETL pipelines for efficient, secure, and reliable data transfer.
* Create and maintain data models ensuring accuracy, consistency, and performance.
* Implement data validation and quality checks to identify and resolve anomalies.
* Monitor and optimise data integration processes to reduce latency and resource consumption.
* Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including data flow diagrams and operational procedures.
* Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
* Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, applying best practices to prevent recurrence.
* Stay updated on emerging data engineering trends and apply learning to improve solutions.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Azure data services.
* Strong background in data engineering, including ETL, data integration, and data modelling.
* Advanced SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing concepts.
* Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Requirements
* Must be able to obtain NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) Security Clearance.
* Location: Canberra, ACT (hybrid work arrangements).
* Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
* Seniority: APS6 equivalent.
