Where you'll be working
Based at Armidale Hospital, you'll be part of a recently renovated, state-of-the-art, 5-bed Level 3 Close Observation Unit. Armidale is the highest city in New South Wales, set high on the Northern Tablelands and famous for its tree-lined streets, stunning autumn colours, and four-season climate. With vibrant arts and cultural activities, alfresco cafes, and world-class education options, Armidale offers all the amenities of a larger centre with the charm of a regional community. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the surrounding World Heritage-listed national parks, complete with spectacular gorges, waterfalls, and walking trails.

About The Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Close Observation Unit, you'll deliver best practice, person-centred care to complex patients requiring High Dependency and Coronary Care, with short-term Intensive Care treatments also provided. You will respond to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergency situations while supporting patient safety and outcomes. The role also offers opportunities to precept and guide nursing students, contribute to safety and quality projects, and engage in ongoing education. Every shift is staffed with two RNs, and you will be supported by a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager and a full-time Clinical Nurse Educator to ensure you have the tools to succeed.

* Flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to ongoing professional development.
* Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Completion of (or willingness to complete) a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care highly regarded.

Requirements

* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
