APS6-EL1 Finance Officer
Randstad is seeking skilled and dedicated Finance Officers looking for new opportunities to join a dynamic teams within the Australian Federal Government. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance and providing critical financial advice to support decision-making at a high level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and undertake complex financial tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end processes.
* Provide accurate and timely financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare and submit reports in compliance with the Commonwealth financial management framework.
* Oversee financial systems and processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Assist with audit activities and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* For EL1 level, this includes leading a team, managing complex projects, and influencing strategic financial direction.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the public sector.
* Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth financial management framework and relevant accounting standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Experience with government financial systems (e.g., SAP, TechOne) is highly desirable.
* Tertiary qualifications in a finance-related field (e.g., Accounting, Commerce) are highly regarded.
