Title: Turning Operator
Location: Wakefield, MI
Reports to: CNC Production Manager
Shift: 1st shift, Monday- Friday, 7:00am- 3:00pm
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The focus of the Turning Operator will be to operate a CNC turning center. Position is responsible for day‐to‐day productivity under the Department Lead.
DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Run/Operate the CNC lathe
* Coordinate/review all inspection of finished blocks internally (In‐Machine) and with quality department as needed
* Problem solving for all turning related tasks as needed
* All turning paperwork organized at program completion
* Maintain and advise lead of all needed repairs on the machinery
* Ensure all scheduled operations/tasks are complete
* Work to the department workload schedule
* Update the schedule as tasks are completed or their status changed
* Mark as ready for the next operation in the next department if applicable
* Make suggestions for equipment, software, training, and resources that would make the department more efficient
* Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalency required
Technical degree preferred but not required
5+ years general machining experience
Strong mechanical aptitude required
Organizational abilities for work, self, and department
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to operate all equipment in the department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete‐floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
