Position Purpose:
The ICT Sales Professional operates as a Telstra Business Technology Advisor, engaging proactively and reactively with customers through face-to-face appointments at the customers' premises. The role entails establishing a comprehensive understanding of small to medium-sized customers' technology needs and opportunities, utilizing in-depth knowledge and expertise to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences, thereby fostering loyalty and referral business.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Compile lists of prospective client businesses using trade directories and other sources.
- Acquire and update knowledge of our company's and competitors' products, services, and market conditions.
- Visit regular and prospective client businesses to establish and act on selling opportunities.
- Assess customers' needs and explain the goods and services which meet their needs.
- Promote our ICT goods and services to existing and prospective clients.
- Quote and negotiate prices and credit terms, and complete contracts and record orders.
- Arrange delivery of goods, installation of equipment, and provision of services.
- Report to sales management on sales made and the marketability of ICT goods and services.
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction with ICT goods and services purchased, arrange modifications, and resolve any problems arising.
- Prepare sales reports, and maintain and submit records of business expenses incurred.
- Work autonomously managing a customer base and maintain a healthy pipeline.
- Create new customer referral business to increase customer client base.
- Manage face-to-face customer appointments and develop key relationships.
- Prepare customer presentations and proposals.
- Draft and review customer contracts.
- Engage in ongoing self-skilling around emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Exhibit a winning attitude and have fun while working towards exceeding performance expectations.
**Required Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition.
- More than 2 years of experience within the ICT industry preferred.
- Proven sales experience; experience in Business-to-Business sales is advantageous.
- Previous Telecommunications or IT sales experience highly regarded.
- Motivated attitude, working towards and exceeding targets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with specialist team members to design solutions.
- High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competency in conflict resolution.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritize.
- Competency with computer systems.
Required Training / Qualifications:
- ICT sales training and relevant industry experience required.
