The Opportunity
We are expanding our Queensland contractor panel and invite expressions of interest from Senior Town Planners seeking flexible, project-based work. This role suits practitioners who can operate autonomously within the Queensland planning framework and provide senior-level judgement on approvals and strategy.
Scope of Services
Engagements will be project-based, with scope, deliverables, fees, and timeframes agreed in advance. Services may include:
* Lead and manage Queensland development approvals under the Planning Act 2016
* Prepare and peer-review planning reports, due diligence advice, expert inputs, and submissions
* Liaise with Queensland local governments, State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA), and project teams (if required)
* Advise on planning risk, pathways, and compliance
About You
You will demonstrate
* Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent)
* Eligible for or current PIA membership
* Minimum 10 years' experience in statutory and/or strategic planning in Queensland
* Strong working knowledge of Queensland planning legislation, planning schemes, and state interests
* Proven ability to manage projects independently and meet agreed timeframes
* High-quality written communication and professional judgement
* Current ABN and professional indemnity insurance
