We have a new opportunity for an experienced Environmental Manager - Land, Cultural & Heritage to join our expanding team.

This role is based in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, at the site of the largest wind farm in NSW, located in Wellington.

You will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and oversight of programs and policies that balance environmental sustainability, land management, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, supports community engagement, and promotes stewardship practices that respect the natural and cultural values of the land.

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

* Develop and oversee land use plans that align with project and organisational goals, community priorities, and sustainability practices.
* Lead initiatives to ensure sustainable management of natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems in compliance with project, regulatory and statutory obligations.
* Engage with local communities, indigenous groups, and stakeholders to promote the importance of environmental and cultural heritage conservation.
* Oversee environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
* Facilitate Environmental Hazard Workshops; ensure compliance with Project LECH Plans, Client Plan and regulatory requirements.
* Develop relevant training programs for management, supervisors, and all project employees and subcontractors.
* Ensure that all site staff are adequately skilled to perform their assigned tasks and are aware of their obligations and responsibilities in relation to LECH functions.
* Develop and implement policies that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
* Monitor and manage land tenure, leases, and agreements in collaboration with stakeholders.

Requirements

In addition to the above, we require an individual with:

* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental science, Cultural Heritage Management, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 15 years + experience in land management, environmental sustainability, or cultural heritage preservation within the construction industry.
* Experience in managing and mentoring teams of advisors and fostering a positive work environment.
* Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and analysing environmental and cultural heritage data.
* Knowledge of environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes and methodologies.
* Deep understanding of environmental laws, cultural heritage legislation, and land management principles.
* Managing budgets and finance, reporting, communicating issues and providing solutions to the leadership team, will be considered beneficial.
* Willingness to work on a fly-in/fly-out basis with an industry-standard work cycle on a DIDO or FIFO 10:4 or 21:7 roster.
