About the Role And Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Dispute Resolution team based in our Newcastle or Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their Legal Assistant career and to be a part of a collaborative team.
In this role, you will provide administrative support to two Partners in our Newcastle and Sydney office and a team of lawyers. You will be responsible for:
* attending to opening files and conducting conflict checks;
* monthly billing, reconciliation of expenses and client reporting;
* attending to searches on companies and individuals;
* assisting in the preparations of court documents and correspondence;
* attending to e-filing using online court portals;
* coordinating meetings and diary management;
* assisting the team with file management;
* liaising with clients, suppliers and stakeholders; and
* maintaining Partners/lawyers' contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications.
About You
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
* at least 3 years' experience as a legal assistant within litigation;
* excellent communication and written skills;
* proactive and an ability to prioritise tasks;
* strong attention to detail;
* strong administrative support skills – ability to learn or understand billing and document management systems;
* experience using Aderant and iManage; and
* strong time management and organisational skills.
