At Levande, we enrich lives and create connected communities every day. As a Grounds & Maintenance Officer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the beauty, safety and presentation of our village, helping residents feel proud of the place they call home. This is meaningful work where every task contributes to the well-being of older Australians.
This full-time Grounds & Maintenance Officer role, based at Macarthur Gardens in Campbelltown, is part of a supportive village team dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming and well‐maintained environment for residents, visitors and staff. You'll be responsible for the presentation, upkeep and day‐to‐day maintenance of the village grounds and shared spaces, ensuring the community always looks its best.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carry out routine maintenance of village grounds and gardens, including light gardening and occasional small‐area mowing (most mowing completed by contractors).
* Plant care such as watering, mulching, pruning, propagation and removal.
* Clean external village areas including patios, verandas, outdoor furniture, pathways and windows.
* Manage rubbish bins and maintain shared outdoor areas such as veggie gardens and bowling greens.
* Complete minor repairs and general upkeep across buildings and shared spaces.
* Operate and maintain equipment safely and effectively.
* Providing occasional relief driving of the village van to support residents when needed.
Why This Role Matters
* The work has an immediate and visible impact on residents' daily experience.
* The role offers genuine variety, no two days are the same.
* The position sits within a community‐focused team that values initiative, teamwork and pride in presentation.
What We're Looking For
* At least 1 year of experience in gardening or grounds maintenance.
* Excellent customer service and a friendly, approachable manner.
* Good physical fitness (ability to lift/move up to 15 kg).
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and use sound judgement.
* Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
* Experience in retirement living, aged care, land lease communities, councils or schools.
* A valid driver's licence and willingness to drive a 12‐seater bus if required.
