Identify and monitor relevant WHS legislation; codes of practice and guidelines. Assist with the facilitation and coordination of Council's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Ensure systems and registers are up to date and maintained. Assist with accidents, incidents and hazard investigations. Coordinate internal safety audits. Assist with the administration of workers' compensation claims, rehabilitation and return to work programs. Assist with job and workplace redesign. Plan, coordinate and conduct workplace health and safety training and inductions. Coordinate WHS Committee meetings and manage associated administration. Provide guidance, advice and support to all employees. Travel to remote communities within Cook Shire Council area and overnight stays What we're looking for Certificate IV or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety and/or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience. High level communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service and agility skills. Sound analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office and data management programs.
