* We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic engineer to assist in the growth and development of our Civil Engineering division in Darwin.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Management: Carrying out and managing detailed designs for all types of projects and all aspects of projects ensuring that designs are innovative, prepared to a high standard and in accordance with the needs and expectations of clients.
2. Project Issue Resolution: Managing and resolving project issues, and considering construction costings and practices in the design process.
3. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers and designers within the civil discipline. You will also provide technical guidance, feedback and support to the team members, and conduct performance reviews, training needs analysis and career development plans for them.
4. Business Development: Gain an understanding of the business and strategic direction of the company, and develop, grow and maintain strong customer relationships. You will also identify, communicate and pursue new opportunities for the Civil Engineering division in Darwin, and build your business development skills.
We are looking for someone with:
* A degree in Civil Engineering.
* Chartered member (CPEng) of Institute of Engineers Australia.
* Demonstrated design experience of at least 10 years.
* The ability to think and solve problems, and critically assess and review designs by others.
* Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings commensurate with level of duties.
* A knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design.
* An understanding of design and commercial risk with good contract management experience.
* Experience in liaising with project managers and architects effectively.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain relationships at different levels within client organisations.
* Business development skills.
