Platypus Shoes is part of the Accent Group, the largest footwear retailer with over 850 stores, 34 brands, and 30+ online platforms including Glue Store, Skechers, Vans, Dr. Martens, The Athletes Foot, Timberland, Hoka, UGG, Saucony, and Nude Lucy.
We are seeking passionate and experienced retail managers for our Platypus store in Canberra. If you have a strong background in retail operations, team leadership, and customer service, we want to hear from you
This role involves leading, inspiring, and coaching a team of passionate casual staff, supported by your Assistant Store Manager. You will drive sales, KPIs, customer engagement, and team development. Collaborating with your Area Manager, you will identify opportunities for your store and team in a high-profile environment.
The role & responsibilities:
* Ensure efficient store operations to meet sales targets, KPIs, store presentation, visual merchandising, stock levels, wage control, and shrinkage
* Motivate your team to achieve KPI and added value targets
* Monitor store sales to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals, recognizing achievements and addressing missed opportunities
* Manage wage costs within targets and adhere to rostering standards
* Coach and mentor your team to maintain high morale and support their development through training and succession planning
* Ensure compliance with OH&S legislation and best practices

To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Experience as a sales assistant, key holder, supervisor, or 3IC in a retail environment
* A motivated, proactive attitude
* A passion for leading and inspiring teams
* A proven track record in sales, KPIs, and targets
* Operational skills in stock control and visual merchandising
