We're looking for a Facilitator to work with our Men's Shed Group at our Community Shed at Pooraka Memorial Hall, Scott St, Pooraka.
This casual role (approximately 4 hours per week) involves supporting participants in their personal projects and community projects. You'll support Pooraka Farm Community Centre to maintain a safe, well-organised workspace, where participants can develop skills, work on meaningful projects, and build connections with others.
We're looking for someone who can:
• Support men in their individual projects and skill development
• Ensure community shed safety and proper use of tools and equipment
• Foster community connection and collaboration
• Create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment
Experience
• Experience in leading people in a workshop or machine room, particularly in a hands-on or practical setting
• Experience working with men from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be socially isolated or facing barriers
• Experience in creating a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for participants
• Practical experience in using and maintaining workshop tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Experience in managing workshop logistics, including preparing materials and coordinating sessions.
Screenings & Qualifications Essential:
• Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check or a willingness to apply for one
• First Aid Certification or willingness to apply for one
