Job Description About the program:The Parent Pathways Program aims to support parents and caregivers by offering vital guidance and resources to help them navigate their parenting journey by providing them with mentorship, support and the opportunity to be more engaged with their community.About the Position:As a Parent Pathways Mentor, you will play a key role in empowering parents, fostering positive development, and connecting them to essential community resources. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build supportive relationships with parents, run programs in the community, and carry out mentoring sessions in group or individual settings.The Parent Pathways Mentor will service areas south of the Swan River. This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract for a maximum duration of 2 years.About you:To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate the following experience and attributes:Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions, offering guidance on parenting styles, child development, and community resources.Facilitate group sessions, leading discussions and activities that promote positive parenting and community engagement.Connect parents with relevant community resources.Supporting parents in identifying their personal, education and work goals.Assist in planning and executing program events and activities.Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, group activities, and resource referrals.Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact.Travel to outreach sites within your region as needed.Undertake any additional responsibilities required by the program.You can demonstrate the below competencies:Have or working towards a Certificate III or IV level of accreditation in Community Services, Youth Work, or equivalent work experience/qualification.Excellent people skills which can be used to build confidence and motivate people from diverse backgrounds.Lived experience in the field of parenting or child development is highly desirable.Have knowledge of the local labour market, parent support groups and local stakeholders to support participant goals.Possess strong administration and computer skillsSatisfy a pre-employment check including a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.What We Offer You:An attractive salary including Salary Packaging9 Day working fortnightCompany vehicle.Employee Assistance ProgramStaff Giving ProgramHealth and Wellbeing ProgramFree parking on siteA friendly, supportive and flexible work environmentWe strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Please apply with a Cover Letter and Resume by 8 July 2025.For position related inquiries please contact the People and Capability Team at NB: Shortlisting may happen prior to closing date.
