Job Description
The APS6 Senior Program Officer plays a key role in managing and supporting international agricultural research partnerships.
This role involves overseeing the contracting, delivery, and administration of partnership arrangements with multilateral organisations.
Reporting to the Director of Multilateral and Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for managing multilateral and co-investment partnership arrangements and international stakeholder engagement strategies.
You will provide expert advice and support for global research collaboration, program management, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage multilateral and co-investment partnership arrangements and international stakeholder engagement strategies.
* Provide expert advice and support for global research collaboration, program management, and quality assurance.
* Approve and oversee research grants aligned with program objectives and policy.
* Collate, synthesise, and analyse global research reviews, reports, and consultations to guide decision-making.
* Monitor project deliverables, budgets, and expenditure to ensure efficient investment delivery.
* Prepare contractual, tender documentation and high-level briefing materials compliant with government legislation and policies.
* Facilitate corporate reporting and communicate program impacts internally and externally.
* Drive improvements in policies, program delivery, and business processes, including data collection and automation.
* Assist with development, monitoring, and reporting of team operating budgets.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Must have a background in agricultural science.
* Proven experience in approving and managing agricultural research grants or funding programs.
* Excellent organisational, financial, contractual, and administrative capabilities.
* Demonstrated program/project management skills with ability to implement monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
* High-level communication skills with experience preparing briefing materials, contracts, and reports.
* Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with international partners, respecting cultural sensitivities.
* Skilled in using project management systems and databases to maintain accurate records.
* Proven ability to represent an organisation effectively at meetings, conferences, and forums.
* Leadership qualities aligned with APS values, fostering collaboration and team effectiveness.
