The Role
As the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) ILS Manager for Training Devices, you will work within a small Product Support Unit (PSU) of specialists providing ILS, engineering, maintenance and training governance and assurance oversight of the key Navy and Army aircrew training capability.
Some of the key duties of this role are:
monitor and report on ILS, engineering and maintenance plans and use their experience to contribute to engineering investigations;
evaluate engineering activities and maintenance processes for compliance with standards to support the safe and reliable operation of synthetic training devices. This may include:
the development of Commonwealth requests for engineering changes;
performing reviews of contractor engineering change proposals and associated contractor deliverables as precursors to providing recommendations on Incorporation Approval;
evaluating the results of contractor engineering investigations;
reviewing proposed changes to the engineering support arrangements for the synthetic training devices;
support the formal qualification of the Flight Simulators;
review all reports, change requests, notifications, submissions and schedules relating to Contractor engineering, maintenance and routine contract deliverables; and
assessing and reporting on the Contractors performance against the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the Performance Management Framework.
