The Role
Provide comprehensive general surgical care, collaborating with a regional team of consultants, GP anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary colleagues. Participate in on-call surgical rosters for emergency presentations, undertake outreach surgical clinics to remote communities, and mentor junior doctors and trainees in a highly regarded teaching environment. Contribute to closing the gap in indigenous health through culturally safe, patient-centred care.
What's on Offer
Competitive salary: $575k - $684k p.a. Generous leave: 4 weeks annual leave + 3 weeks PDL + long service and cultural leave entitlements. Regional benefits include district allowance, accommodation subsidies, air conditioner subsidies, and travel days. Salary packaging allows up to $9,010 for living expenses + $2,650 for meals. Relocation support includes interstate and overseas relocation expenses reimbursed (conditions apply). Visa and PR sponsorship is available through employer-sponsored visa pathways.
Preference will be given to applicants who currently reside in Australia, hold unrestricted general registration with the Medical Board of Australia, have at least two years of clinical experience in Australia or a recognised competent authority country, and completion of upper and lower GI endoscopy training accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).
