The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical Supply Analyst with strong statistical capability, forecasting skills, and reporting expertise. Reporting to the Inventory Superintendent / Supply Superintendent, you will play a key role in improving supply chain reliability, inventory optimisation, and bulk commodities planning.
A critical part of this role is the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights through high-quality reporting tools such as Power BI, SAP-based reporting, and other data analysis platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep diving into data, building models, and driving meaningful supply chain improvements.
Your key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain statistical forecasting models for materials, consumables, and bulk commoditiesManage demand forecasting cycles by analysing consumption trends, seasonality, operational events, and variabilityLead planning and optimisation for bulk commodities, including usage prediction, replenishment planning, and monitoring delivery performanceDevelop high-quality Power BI dashboards and automated reporting that communicate supply performance and trigger early warningsProduce actionable reports—not only data—providing insights that support operational and leadership decision-makingExtract, clean, and analyse data from multiple systems (SAP and other databases/reporting platformsCreate data models and datasets to support continuous analysis and forecastingMonitor stock levels daily and escalate risks early (expediting, parameter changes, stock transfers)Optimise SAP MRP parameters (safety stock, ROP/Max, MOQ/EOQ, lead time, procurement type)Conduct deep-dive investigations into stock-outs, slow movers, overstock, obsolete stock, and demand anomaliesSupport Material Master data accuracy (UoM, lead time, MRP type, lot size, storage locations)Collaborate with Procurement, Maintenance Planning, Warehousing, Inventory Controllers, and Commercial teamsContribute to improvement initiatives, Trigger Action Plans, audits, and digital optimisation projects
The successful applicants will have:
Strong analytical and statistical skillsExperience building or maintaining forecasting models (time-series, regression, variation analysis, or similar methods)Advanced Power BI capability (data modelling, visualisation, DAX, interactive dashboards)Experience using data extraction and reporting tools across various databases or platformsStrong Excel capability (Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas, modelling)SAP MM experience, including MRP analysis, Material Master review, and stock reportingUnderstanding of core supply chain principles: safety stock, ROP/Max, EOQ/MOQ, lead time variability, demand cyclesAbility to interpret large datasets and convert findings into actionable insightsClear communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience in mining or heavy industry (advantageous)Proactive, improvement-focused, and comfortable working with complex data
